The Fat Robot Sings
This is it. The fat robot has sung. This is the final doodle for Doodle-All-A-Day. I'm a little bit sad and a little bit elated. This has been an interesting experiment, to say the least.
I can quite honestly say that I've learned a lot by doing this. I've learned a lot about using the Wacom tablet, and creating artwork in Photoshop. I've learned a few things about my drawing style, what I like to do, what I don't like to do. Most of all, I've learned that I can stick with something, even when I really don't feel like doing it... and believe me, there were a good number of days when I said, "I just reaaaallly don't feel like drawing today."
This has been a good warm-up exercise. It's time to move on to bigger and better things. I have another project that's been itching for me to take it on. I won't be committing to doing one doodle a day with this next project, but I plan to share a bit of my progress as I go along. I find that it helps to keep me accountable if I'm posting things online. So, if you're interested in seeing what I'm up to, hop on over to chadcburnett.com. Smudge Tool Practice
"What is it?" was the question I heard from 4 different people as I was drawing this. The answer is, "Nothing." It's an eye and part of a face. I was really just practicing shading techniques using the smudge tool in Photoshop and liked the results so decided to post it... and yes, this is quite a bit smaller than my usual drawings. Like I said, I was practicing.

Baby's First Haircut
I've been thinking lately that what a lot of my drawings lack is narrative. I've got quite a number of portrait and character designs, but a lot of my stuff just isn't telling much of a story. So, I've been trying to add a bit of that into that last few doodles I've posted.
